The philosophy stream of the Tulita Yoga Teacher Training offers a grounded, accessible study of yoga’s classical roots and its continued relevance today. Through key texts like the Yoga Sutras and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, you'll explore yoga as a practice of integration—connecting body, breath, mind, and self. Rather than remaining purely theoretical, these teachings are woven into your lived practice, helping you cultivate clarity, cultural awareness, and a deeper sense of intention as both a student and future teacher.

Led by Liz, a movement educator with over 35 years of experience, the anatomy component of the Tulita Yoga Teacher Training offers a practical, embodied approach to understanding the body. Rather than focusing on memorization, you’ll learn to apply anatomical principles in real time—building the skills to teach safely, adapt confidently, and support students with clarity. Liz’s depth of experience brings a grounded, intelligent perspective that’s both accessible and essential for today’s yoga teacher.

The yoga component of the Tulita Yoga Teacher Training is grounded in a trauma-sensitive approach, emphasizing agency, nervous system awareness, and inclusive cueing.
Across 80 dedicated hours, this unit is delivered through daily Development Clinics, thoughtfully divided into morning and afternoon sessions.
Mornings focus on collective study: learning methodology, practicing with peers, and engaging in movement-based exploration of that day’s educational themes. Afternoons are devoted to practice teaching, refinements, and connection-based check-ins—building the confidence, clarity, and presence required to teach from a place of care rather than performance.
This is yoga taught with integrity—where safety, adaptability, and student empowerment take the lead.
A teacher training built for teachers
The Tulita Movement was established as a late chronicle of historic enlightenment.
In its entirety, Tulita remains faithful to the Indian origins in all aspects of Yoga.
The Curriculum at a Glance
Here is a look into Tulita’s comprehensive, integrated curriculum designed to develop confident, capable teachers who lead with clarity, safety, and purpose.
ASANA
Morning and afternoon sessions are dedicated to the art of teaching asana. You’ll learn how to sequence intelligently, cue clearly, offer variations and exceptions, and guide students with both confidence and care.
These clinics prioritize alignment, safety, and the practitioner’s overall benefit. Practice teaching is woven throughout to help you embody the material from day one.
ANATOMY
Our anatomy module is grounded in real-world application. You’ll explore how the body moves, how to support students with varying physical needs, and how to prevent injury through mindful, functional understanding. This section supports your ability to teach with nuance and adaptability.
PHILOSOPHY
Each training day begins with meditation, followed by an inquiry into how ancient yogic principles apply to modern life. Rather than focusing solely on history, we explore how to integrate philosophy into daily living and teaching. Through supportive conversation and reflective discussion, you’ll learn how to bring depth and meaning into your classes—and your own personal practice.
PRANAYAMA + MEDITATION
You’ll explore a range of meditation styles and breathing techniques through self-directed assignments and group presentations. By preparing and delivering short workshop-style teachings, you’ll gain confidence in guiding these practices in real-life settings.
Featured Teacher Clinics
Throughout the program, you’ll learn from experienced guest instructors at White Oaks in specialty sessions that introduce you to a wide range of approaches. Topics include oncology-informed yoga, mandala sequencing, restorative and yin, hands-on assisting, nonviolent communication, and more.
These clinics broaden your skillset and offer direct mentorship from seasoned professionals.
BUSINESS OF YOGA
This section offers practical tools for building a teaching path that feels sustainable and true to your values. We explore professionalism, pricing, branding, and business foundations—through the lens of yogic philosophy. You’ll walk away with clarity on how to build your presence while staying grounded in purpose.
MORALITY CLINICS
These sessions are designed to cultivate emotional awareness and ethical reflection. Through guided journaling and open dialogue, you’ll explore what it means to teach with integrity, navigate interpersonal dynamics, and show up fully for yourself and your future students.
FAQs
What sets this teacher training apart?
This program goes beyond personal practice—it's a comprehensive pathway into the art and skill of teaching. While many trainings provide general overviews, the Tulita Yoga Teacher Training is intentionally designed to emphasize how and why to teach. With a strong focus on alignment, sequencing, and safety, students receive real-time feedback, hands-on experience, and practical tools to step confidently into a teaching role.
Is this program suitable for those who don’t intend to teach?
Yes—if you’re seeking depth, structure, and a more embodied understanding of yoga. However, many students who begin with the intention of deepening their own practice often discover a newfound desire to share what they've learned. Immersing yourself in this level of study often sparks a natural inclination toward teaching.
How much teaching experience will I gain?
A significant amount. Teaching begins on day 4 in a supportive, incremental format—allowing you to develop your voice, refine your approach, and receive mentorship throughout the training. You’ll graduate having led practice teaching sessions, received feedback, and built confidence in your ability to lead a class safely and effectively.
How long is the training?
This is an immersive format, designed to fit into one very powerful month of your life. It’s not a slow-drip kind of program—it’s deep, accelerated, and meant to fully activate your path as a teacher.
Monday–Friday from 7am–3pm, and Saturdays from 7am–1pm.
